Suggestions Thread

Forum rules
Before posting here, remember that it's alright to post question threads, as long as you're asking something really long and descriptive, with a real topic to actually discuss. Stuff like "What is the mod about?" or other fast questions only polute the section and should be posted on the Fast Questions Thread.

Also, if you're gonna give us suggestions for NPCs, weapons or maps, please refer to the Suggestions Thread.

Hey i have a few idea's here!

1
Just thinking you should make a chapter based in the night of the Outlands and you have to turn on lights to keep a monster/monsters away from you. Just a suggestion.

I was thinking you should make a snark type enemy that causes a high pitched sound that would be used to stun predators

Since the game is based just after the war their should be random straglers borded in their houses or whatever they could find refuge in.

or... you could make a random broken down gun shop somewhere random. Half raddied by survivors but some supplies are still there like pistol and shotgun ammo maybe even a heathkit or 2

The Range:a chapter taking place after the desert where there is light brown like grass like in california and trees with autumn like leaves that are falling off,the area seems to be in fall unlike the rest of the area.
some area ideas for the chapter are:

Graveyard:a graveyard witch you get pinned down by hunters and combine forces by surprise,this is also where you trade your bike for a jeep,if possible.also its a bit cinematic when you enter it with birds flying away and you see a jeep just laying there a bit too,conveinently.

Like that light-that-keeps-monsters-away-from-you idea. But it'd be more pratical if you had a xen rock or something. But hey, it sounds really cool.

By the way, I'm on Argentina right now. So I might take a day to answer your questions/suggestions.

The Compound:a cinematic chapter taking place in the Pheonix base,basically you meet everyone there and plan an attack on the combine,send a message toward the new york base,but the signal is jammed and inturrupted by combine.

Ok, this just has to be said, but a lot of these idea are crap, if you want to be taken seriously, then make serious posts, we really don't want this thread to turn into the one over at Black Mesa. When you're about to make a post, please ask yourself these questions:

1. Will this take too long to make? We aren't looking for chapter ideas, just small things, for example, you could give us improvements on maps, models, or weapons, if you think you have an AMAZING idea for a map or the story, then post it, but please make sure it doesn't suck.

2. How much time have I invested in this idea? We don't want every thing that pops into your heads, if you have an idea, think about how it would fit in with the mod, and improve on it, we don't want anything linear or something done to death, like a graveyard.

3. Would you see this in any rational game? This is a professional mod, so treat it like a game you'd buy in the store, we aren't looking for anything along the lines of "YOU MEET UP WITH THE GMAN AND YOU HAVE A MINI-BOSS BATTLE WITH HIM AND KILL HIM LOL!", if you have an idea like that and you just have to get it in a mod, then give it to a shit mod like Headcrab Ravenholm, or some mod like that, there's hundreds of them on ModDB.

One more thing, please don't post like 5 suggestions in one post, unless you have some amazing suggestions. I'm not trying to be "That Guy" but lets try to not get carried away here. Thanks.

Rofl'd at the headcrab ravenholm refrence.

Here's a idea I took seriously.

Add like maybe some little resturaunt like the one near the patton museum in palm desert,and maybe that staue w/o the head model.

Thanks for understanding, I'm not trying to discourage anyone, just trying to encourage them to come up with some awesome ideas, and you also have to understand, we already have a story, so any changes to the story will be rare.

Ok so my idea for a desert npc is like a giant snake-like thing. It can dive into the sand, go under it, then come out of the sand somewhere else.
